my children attempt to use the sink

The most amazing thing happened the other day. I had led my children into the bathroom at a restaurant, they used the facilities, and then they walked over to the sink to wash their hands. I was at the correct angle to watch their little faces in the mirror as they passed their hands below the spigot. Their faces twisted in confusion as no water came out. They could not conceive why waiving their hands under the faucet would not turn on the water. It had a manual handle!

We are living in such a world of prosperity that our children are accustomed to just waiving their hands under a sink to make the water turn on. This is so customary to their lives that to find the reverse confuses them. This is more evidence that our children will live cleaner, better, and longer lives than us.
