People tend to care more about the wellbeing of animals than of other human beings. People do not blink twice about child abuse, while any bad treatment of animals hits national headlines.

Animals don’t lie. Animals don’t cheat. Animals do not scheme, or let you down. Animals have none of the evil characteristics so commonly found in human beings. Animals are easy to love.

I have never been impressed by those who claim they love animals. Loving animals is easy. The real feat is loving fellow human beings.
